Miya Dean– Veterinary Technician
Miya moved from South Dakota to Georgia when she was a child and loved to be outside all day, playing in the woods and exploring the wildlife. Miya grew up in a Pitbull household, but through her family and friends, she soon loved every animal and insect she met. In her young career, she started walking and grooming dogs at an all-animal boarding facility and daycare. This environment taught her how to read a pet's body language and to look for cues to understand animal behavior. She quickly became a veterinary assistant, helping the doctors and technicians in their daily tasks. Miya fell in love with her work and moved up to being a veterinary technician.
Even though Miya loved her job in the South, she and her partner Hayden dreamed of moving to the West. Once graduating from college, they finally made the trip from the lakes to the mountains and never looked back. Miya found the Jackson Animal Hospital to be the perfect fit and is thriving with her new team. For the past five years of being a technician, Miya still loves everything about her job. Most importantly, she enjoys working with her colleagues to ensure that each animal receives the best possible care while at the hospital. In her free time, you will find Miya, Hayden, and their spunky cat Jasmine exploring what Wyoming has to offer.
